I brought this product for a workplace gathering. Everyone said that this tart lacked flavor and wondered where i bought this from. I thought that there would be more pear and hazelnut flavor. So far the Babka have fared better with my family and coworkers. Plus I wouldn't buy this during the holiday season as this requires two day shipping charges, but I didn't receive this until 5 days after the day of purchase. Don't waste your money on this item unless pressed for a pear tart and no bakery near you can provide one.

I bought this tart because it looked amazing, was very well priced, and had a great description. When I recieved it, the tart did look exactly as the photos, it was very eye appealing. However, it really is all CRUST just as one other reviewer stated. There is barely any filling at all and the only flavor you taste is the crust. The smidgen of filling and pears there are is totally muted by the thick crust. If you do choose to buy one of these then you will definitely need to add a sauce or ice cream. It is lacking in flavor, I would not purchase this item again.

I am sooooo disappointed. The only flavor in this is the crust. NO, none whatsoever hazelnut and almond cream. Hazelnut and almond cream? where? The pears do have a nice crunch. Did the pastry chef leave this off? How can there be almost no flavor? My greater disappointment is this was a treat to myself post kidney transplant - should have ordered the shortbread cookies, because this ends up being one expensive cookie.

I sent this to my mom whose is a flaky pastry addict. It was for Valentine's Day. It arrived fresh as can be and right on time. The on-line ordering was convenient and trustworthy. Best of all there were only crumbs left. She loved the flavors, crispness with just the right amount of sweetness. It is difficult to satisfy a craving without a great local baker however Dean and Deluca did the job beautifully! Mom was happy which makes me happy.
