I love sumac. You cannot have an authentic fatoosh salad without it. Sumac adds a lemon-y brightness to salads that makes them irresistible. Also recently sprinkled sumac over a lovely fennel salad. It definitely adds a certain freshness to a dish.

I have never used this spice before, and I happen to be staying with a friend, who is a head chef at a local hotel. He has some amazing spices, as do I but Sumac has not been added to my collection....UNTIL now! It has this amazing taste that you cant describe right away but after devouring whatever you have sprinkled, rubbed, or marinated this with....you realize its what you always wanted in a spice.
Rubbed on chicken cutletts with rosemary, dijon mustard, shallots, sea salt, fresh cracked pepper and lemon...then grilled...
Sprinkled on the Corn on the Cob with salt and pepper( sea salt and freshly cracked)....GRILLED.
It was amazing...
