I have my own hot chocolate blend that I created with cocoa, Belgian chocolate, and other ingredients that boost the chocolate flavor. Makes a delicious drink but getting the chocolate melted and smoothly blended is a challenge, even with a traditional whisk. The molinillo does a great job blending everything together into a velvety smooth, frothy drink that is perfect for a cold weather treat.

I gave this molinillo as a gift and the receiver refused to try it out. They said it was too beautiful to use. I bought two and both had small pieces of wood missing from the rings, but that's to be expected of such thin pieces.

Saw this item displayed in Food Network Magazine. Beautiful kitchen tool for great price. I don't even want to use it in the hot chocolate because I do not want to get anything on it. I think i'll get another one for frothing hot chocolate.

this is so gorgeous to look at I have it on display in my kitchen accessories crock. oh yes, and it does do what it says it will do. my great grand mother had one and used it all the time for our cocoa when we were kids. i think I will start to collect them now since the look and variety are so varied based on the maker. I bought this as part of my husband's Father's Day present. He was delighted seeing as he is an avid hot chocolate drinker and we had just recently had a trip to Mexico. He was completely in awe of the carved design. Also, we try to bring an item to home thrown dinner parties that the guests have to guess the function. This is perfect!

Although I did not purchase the product to use the way it is meant, I am enjoying it for the beauty and joy it brings me displayed with several other molinillos on my sideboard. Each one is different and this one is the most elaborate in its carving. I am thrilled to have it. Someday, perhaps I will use it as it is intended to be used----sounds like it would be a fun process and a delicious drink.

This makes such a beautiful & ethnic addition to a kitchen. Love the black hand carved design! I haven't used it yet (keep forgetting I have it!) but I'm sure it will do just what it's supposed to do. It's sturdy & well made - beautiful!
