Forager story

In the middle of the 17th century, Louis XIV and the French East India Company sponsored the exploration of distant lands in the search of exotic goods and spices. The tea trade soon flourished. Nicolas and Pierre Mariage were at the forefront—the Mariage brothers travelled to Madagascar and Persia, where they signed a trade agreement with the Shah. They brought home fragrant, gorgeous teas never before seen in Europe. Tea became the thriving family business.
By 1843, when the Mariages opened their first shop in Paris, they had generations of experience and knowledge, and continued to import the finest teas from around the world. Today, tourists flock to their historic teashop in the Marais, which is a feast for the senses. Mariage Frères blends the highest quality green teas from Japan, white teas from China, First Flush Darjeelings, and more. The Mariage family has elevated tea to art, and savoring one of their signature blends is a true delight.
Mariage Frères presents their teas in gorgeous tins. Together, we’ve crafted a balanced, lovely signature Mariage Frères DEAN & DELUCA blend, a rich black tea with subtle notes of citrus. Their Marco Polo, aromatic black tea infused with Chinese and Tibetan fruits and flowers, is a wonderful afternoon pick-up, and Rouge Bourbon Vanille Tea is perfect for savoring with a flaky pastry. We hope you’ll try them all.

Comments about Mariage Frères Earl Grey Impérial Tea:
My favorite Parisian tea! True sophistication with the sensuous bergamot
flavor. I love the beautifully tied tea bags, so french. A beautiful gift! When in Paris I drink this tea every morning, and also for afternoon tea at the beautiful tea room in St Germain. I love it so much, it has become the only tea I drink in the morning at home. I am so thrilled to be able to buy it here!!
